Made\, worn and walked by hundreds of people during and since its pilgrimage from the south coast of England to COP 26\, the UN climate summit\, in Glasgow autumn 2021.  \n\n\n\nThe Coat is made up of pieces of blanket into which people have worked their griefs\, remembrances\, prayers and hopes for the place they call home. It carries an invitation to share our love and responsibility in facing this climate and ecological emergency. \n\n\n\nYou are invited to come and find out about this amazing project\, to try on the coat if you wish\, and hear the stories of those who are walking and wearing it. \n\n\n\nThis is a FREE drop-in event\, all are very welcome (including children). DESCRIPTION:We are playing host to an extra special edition of Community in a Cup\, running all through the day from 10am to 4pm. \n\n\n\nIn addition to the usual activities and stalls\, One Maldon District will be joining us for a special Living Well This Winter event\, which will have a wealth of advice on keeping fit\, healthy and warm as the weather gets cooler. In the afternoon\, between 1 -2.30pm\, there will also be the chance to walk over the road to the Town Hall and discover how you can shop at reduced prices\, with the Social Supermarket. \n\n\n\nCommunity in a Cup is a joint project between Longfield Medical Centre and Maldon United Reformed Church\, offering help\, information\, fun and relaxing craft activities\, free refreshments\, a warm welcome and a listening ear. \n\n\n\nTaking place on the last Tuesday of the month\, each morning will have a slightly different theme\, but welcomes anyone in the community\, regardless of which GP surgery they attend\, who feels in need of cheering up or a little extra support. As well as refreshments\, craft and time to chat\, there will be specialist help and advice available from organisations including Alzheimer’s Society\, United in Kind\, Ace Music Therapy\, Tescos\, Community Agents\, Essex County Fire & Rescue\, Action for Family Carers\, Parkinson’s\, MacMillan\, U3A.

DESCRIPTION:Churches Together in Maldon is hosting a public hustings\, offering a chance to ask questions of our General Election candidates. \n\n\n\nHeld at Maldon URC\, we can now confirm that all five of the candidates who are running for election will be present at the hustings – Sir John Whittingdale (Conservative)\, Onike Gollo (Labour)\, Simon Burwood (Liberal Democrats)\, Isobel Doubleday (Green Party) and Pamela Walford (Reform UK).  \n\n\n\nQuestions for the candidates need to be submitted in advance (received by 5pm on Sunday 23 June at the latest) to maldon@salvationarmy.org.uk but if time allows\, questions will also be taken from the floor at the end. \n\n\n\nThe venue is accessible\, with wheelchair ramps and sound loop\, and there will be Blue Badge parking only available on site (please use town car parks if you are not a Blue Badge holder).  \n\n\n\nAll voters in the constituency\, and teenagers wanting to learn more about the political process\, are very welcome to attend\, and the event is free. Security arrangements will be in place\, so please don’t bring large bags\, glass bottles etc. Numbers will be limited for safety\, doors open at 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Concert: Carols and Readings (piano and audience participation)
DESCRIPTION:This month’s Lunchtime Concert will be a celebration of Christmas with carols and readings – and a chance for audience participation. \n\n\n\nMaldon Court Preparatory School Choir will be there to lead the singing of the traditional carols\, and Richard Maison will be at the grand piano. \n\n\n\nJoin us from 12.15 for tea or coffee and a mince pie\, and as always\, you are welcome to bring your lunch. The carols will start at 1pm and finish by 2pm to fit in with office lunch break. \n\n\n\nThere will be a retiring donation in aid of CHESS Chelmsford Homeless Charity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaldon Lunchtime Concerts are organised by CHURCHES TOGETHER in MALDON\, as part of their community programme. \n\n\n\nConcerts start at 1pm on the second Thursday of the month at the United Reformed Church\, Market Hill\, Maldon\, Essex (the church is on the right-hand side of Market Hill as you descend from the High Street). Coffee and tea are served from 12.15 pm onwards. The concerts received an international audience in 2017 reaching as far as the New York Post and beyond. \n\n\n\nPlease feel free to bring your lunch and to come and go as you wish. Full disabled access is available. The concerts are non-profit making; fees and costs are met by donations from the audience at the end of each performance.  \n\n\n\nWe have a Steinway Model B grand piano which is used at our concerts together with the church’s video\, lighting and sound facilities.  \n\n\n\nNo entry fee or ticket required.
