Election Hustings – Meet the Candidates

Churches Together in Maldon is hosting a public hustings, offering a chance to ask questions of our General Election candidates.
Held at Maldon URC, we can now confirm that all five of the candidates who are running for election will be present at the hustings – Sir John Whittingdale (Conservative), Onike Gollo (Labour), Simon Burwood (Liberal Democrats), Isobel Doubleday (Green Party) and Pamela Walford (Reform UK).
Questions for the candidates need to be submitted in advance (received by 5pm on Sunday 23 June at the latest) to maldon@salvationarmy.org.uk but if time allows, questions will also be taken from the floor at the end.
The venue is accessible, with wheelchair ramps and sound loop, and there will be Blue Badge parking only available on site (please use town car parks if you are not a Blue Badge holder).
All voters in the constituency, and teenagers wanting to learn more about the political process, are very welcome to attend, and the event is free. Security arrangements will be in place, so please don’t bring large bags, glass bottles etc. Numbers will be limited for safety, doors open at 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start.
